Head of User Interface Design (f/m)

Your commitment

You will be a champion for customer driven innovations. You will be leading a team of interaction designers and visual designers. Within the board of management, you will need to be the advocate of a strong user centred design (UCD) strategy. You will also be required to be very hands-on in steering, directing and owning the user interface design process yourself.

From Web over IPTV to touch screen and hardware interfaces, you will be defining the user experience together with your team. The area of your responsibility implies the provision of high level and detailed functional and visual specifications as well as paper or interactive prototypes for both formal and guerrilla usability testing. Nevertheless, you will still need to promote the field of user experience design throughout the company. You will have to develop, provide and communicate standards, methodologies, and repeatable processes for the delivery of UCD services. You will need to keep and improve a strong collaboration with internal and external partners.

Your profile

You have at least 5+ years experience in UCD initiatives, ideally in a telecommunication or entertainment driven company combined with studies in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field. You have a strong user focus and a visual mindset with the ability to judge visual designs and identify design trends. In addition you need to have a substantial experience in the online field and in the design of mobile services including touch screen.

Good experience in hardware interaction design and a gained experience in IPTV UI design would be ideal. Your hands-on experience in different projects regarding information architecture, wireframes, interaction specifications, user interface guidelines, visual design, styleguides etc. will help you in this position. Besides your strong people and communication skills, you have also sound analytical und strategical problem solving skills. You speak fluent German and English.
