UPA-i Call for 2011 Regional Coordinator Nominations

Dear UPA International/Chapter Member,
UPA International is seeking nominations for UPA members to run for the Regional
Coordinator positions for terms beginning January 1, 2011. Voting will be
open to all UPA Chapter members and all UPA International members to
ensure quality representation from each region.
- These are one year terms for calendar year 2011.
- Nominees must be members of UPA, and must have previous experience as a leader in a UPA International Chapter. Similar experience with related organizations will be considered.
- Nominees must have their primary residence in the region they are being nominated to represent.
Regional Coordinators responsibilities are to:
- represent the interests of members of local chapters and members of UPA International
- represent UPA in the region
- collaborate with the UPA Board of Directors and other Regional Coordinators
Regional Coordinators are expected to contribute about 5 hours per
month to UPA activities, including quarterly conference calls.
The UPA is seeking nominations for five Regional Coordinator positions for
the 2011 term. Regional Coordinator roles that will be filled during this
election will be:
- Asia
- Europe
- Latin America (Mexico, Central Am erica and South America)
- MEAOS (Middle East; Africa; Oceania - Australia and New Zealand; and Sub-continent - India, Pakistan)
- North America (Canada and The United States of America)
Interested candidates will be able to discuss their interest with a
member of the Elections Committee before committing to being on the
ballot. They will also receive a full description of the Regional Coordinator
position. Current Regional Coordinators may be nominated for this elected term.
Nominations are due by 11:59pm ET Monday, November 29, 2010.

Regional Coordinator position please send the following information to

- Candidate's name and Company/Organization/School affiliation
- Contact information: email address and phone number
- Brief description of why the candidate is interested in running, or think the candidate will be an effective Regional Coordinator.
Once we receive the nomination, we will ask the nominee for additional
information such as a candidate statement, background information, and
the position in which the nominee is interested. We will also send a
Contract of Commitment for the nominee to complete and return.

Please note that being nominated for a RC position does not necessarily
ensure that you will be slated to run. Rather, the elections
committee recommends a slate of nominees to the Board based on each
nominee's professional and UPA volunteer experience, their candidate
statement, and the current competency needs of the Board.
