Position Description
As a Human Factors Specialist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team, which is a critical driving force behind applying human-centered design within product development.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, marketing and end users to create safe and usable medical devices.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and collaborate with internal and external partners to plan, execute and document human factors activities across the product development lifecycle within the constraints of a regulated environment.
- Generate and prototype hardware and software user interface design concepts for complex medical devices.
- Plan and conduct end user evaluations of concepts and final products, analyze data, document results; and present design recommendations to the product development team.
- Support the creation and establishment of a company-wide usability engineering process and human factors design guidelines.
Position Requirements
- Solid academic background in Human Factors Engineering/Design or related field (Masters' degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Ergonomics or related field).
- 3-5 years of experience and a proven track record (portfolio) in applying human-centered design for hardware and software user interfaces.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, Blend).
- Knowledge of product (hardware and software) development processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to handle multiple assignments and perform in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
- Previous experience in medical device industry would be a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English.
