Mitarbeiter gesucht für die UPA international conference 2010 in München
Für die internationale UPA Konferenz 2010 in München suchen wir noch freiwillige Mitarbeiter aus der German UPA. Die Konferenz findet vom 24.-28. Mai 2010 im Bayrischen Hof in München statt.
If you are interested in getting involved in organizing the 2010 UPA conference, I will be happy to share some ideas about how you can get involved in the UPA international conference 2010 in Munich, which will be held in late May 2010. Simply contact me on jb@germanupa.de
In particular we still need people to help with the following positions:
- Workshops
- Student Liaison
- Session chair co-ordinator (must attend conference)
As this will be the first international UPA conference outside of North America, we would like to have an international committee with lots of participation from Europe and around the world. For reviewers, there will be a separate call in summer next year.
FAQs:
How much time will I have to spend on this?
Hard to say. Very roughly 5-10 days over the year. For the program committee, peak times are between August and November 2009 (submissions, reviews, program selection).
I've never done this before. How will I know what to do?
We will try to have at least one experienced conference organizer in each position. There are lots of very helpful people with UPA who will be happy to pass on their experience from past conferences.
Why should I do this at all?
Because you want to. It's interesting, fun, challenging, and great for networking!
Do I get paid?
No, this is strictly voluntary. We cannot even offer a conference fee discount at the moment, but we're working on it...
